Laugh-out-loud comedy is film of year

If you, like many others, were
left bitterly disappointed by the plot-less dud that was Ab Fab: The
Movie, then prepare for Bridget Jones to come in like a giant
knickers-wearing superhero to save summer cinema.
Why? Because Bridget Jones’s Baby
(BJB) is absolutely brilliant!
Twelve years have passed and Bridget may have lost weight, stopped smoking
and traded her diary for a tablet but in BJB, she greets you like an old
friend with that same tragic wit.
And while the film may be sadly Daniel Cleaver-less, all her hilarious old
pals, grumpy parents and swoon-worthy on/off love Mark Darcy are back for
the third installment of Bridget.
We can’t give too much away, but the new film shows Bridget having been
left behind after Shazzer, Tom and Jude have all got married and started
families, despite the fact her career is soaring.
After a few (hilarious) drunken escapades over the course of a weekend,
Bridget will find herself up the duff (spoiler alert!) and there’s ‘at
least a 50 per cent chance it’s Mark’s.’
With scenes such as the two potential dads to be pretending to be a gay
couple, Emma Thompson playing the most frank doctor and several topless
moments from Patrick Dempsey, BJB is full of moments that both you and
your mum will enjoy (because you know you can’t go without her!).
It’s probably not quite as a good as the 2001 original, but it comes
damn close!
