Welcome back, Bridget Jones!

Renée Zellweger has been filming the third installment of the Bridget Jones movie series and she's now opening up about how she really feels about playing the iconic role again.

"I'm having a good time," the Oscar winner told me at the LA County Walk to Defeat ALS, where she was participating in honor of her friend and longtime publicist Nanci Ryder.

It's been fourteen years since the release of Bridget Jones's Diary in 2001, which was followed by Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason in 2004.

"It's really a nice reunion with old friends," Zellweger said. "And it's always wonderful to be back in London and I love this character so it's been a real treat to get to revisit it again."

Bridget Jones's Baby also stars returning actor Colin Firth, who plays Bridget's husband Mark Darcy, and franchise newcomer Patrick Dempsey, whose role remains a mystery. Hugh Grant, who played Bridget's other love interest, is not returning for the third film.

Zellweger admitted she never thought whether a Bridget Jones 3 would happen, but said, "I'm really glad to be doing it."

Asked if it was easy to slip into her British accent again, Zellweger laughed, "I wouldn't say that."

The first official image from Bridget Jones's Baby was released about two weeks ago on the Facebook page of production company Working Title Films. It shows Zellweger in a big bulky sweater and clutching an iPad.

The new movie has been in development for years and is adapted from Helen Fielding's columns for the U.K. newspaper The Independent. Bridget, now in her 40s, finds herself pregnant, while the identity of the baby's father is unknown.

At last year's ALS Walk, Zellweger told me it would be "fun" to play Bridget again, but insisted she wasn't in the loop on the third flick's development. "I'm not being cagey," she said. "I just don't know."
