Soul to soul reading for Bridget Jones

As Bridget Jones: the Edge of Reason opens nationwide this weekend, we asked spiritual medium Rosemary Altea to delve into the personalities of Darcy, Bridget and Daniel Cleaver.

Half the fun for fans of the books and films has been studying the various relationships of the main characters. So we asked Rosemary Altea to create 'soul maps' for Darcy, Bridget and Cleaver to see who has a future with whom.

Our favourite 30-something Bridget Jones could be just as happy with Daniel Cleaver as Mark Darcy. That is the conclusion of spiritual medium Rosemary Altea after she analysed the 'soul maps' of the three.

She says: 'Bridget is extremely compatible with both of them. She is a visionary sign. She needs adoration and admiration. She needs someone to tell her she is beautiful.' If Mark Darcy fails to be open about his feelings for Bridget, he risks losing her, says soul mapper and medium Rosemary Altea. The theory, which she outlines in her book Soul Signs, divides people into five main personality types - fire, air, water, earth and sulphur. Interestingly, Bridget, Mark and Daniel are all earth signs, which explains their emotional triangle, she says.

Bridget has an earth sign with a visionary side, says Rosemary. That means she is a planner, she has a strategy, and she is very, very creative - as is illustrated by her diary keeping. Author and medium Rosemary Altea has done a soul chart for Bridget Jones - and says she is a typical visionary. She loves her friends, and friends are very important to her. She is always in contact with them. Bridget is also an action-taker, she's very friendship orientated. Making the right choices worry her. She is working all the time and trying to figure things out.

Bridget Jones's hero Mark Darcy has an earth sign and because of this is very goal orientated, puts others first ahead of himself and hates to go into battle, according to a soul reading. The reading by Rosemary Altea puts Darcy into the 'warrior' category. That makes him extremely reliable. Warriors are also determined and can be outspoken. Typical warriors keep their feelings private as Darcy is prone to.

According to Rosemary Altea - Daniel Cleaver is a 'hunter'. Her analysis of personality types shows compatability and analyses typical behaviour. Hunters generally put themselves first, but are very focused. This 'can be really great if their partners have the same focus,' she says. Hunters are strategic planners and action takers.

Because a soul sign reading of Bridget Jones's character shows she falls into the central energy camp, she could be equally happy with Daniel Cleaver or Mark Darcy, says Rosemary Altea.

Author and personality expert Altea says 'If Daniel stopped messing around with other women, they could be compatible.'
